It all started when...

Liège waffles date back for centuries in Belgium and are named after their town of origin. They are made from a yeasted dough and rolled in pearl sugar before being cooked on an iron. Despite their little known existence in the U.S., they are still extremely popular street food in Belgium; usually served with powdered sugar and meant to eat on the go! These slightly sweet waffles pair wonderfully with savory ingredients which is where Waffletina veers from the traditional, making unique sandwiches with our classic liège waffles.
